Sample Answer

During the last national holiday, I traveled to Hunan province with my friends. We went to a popular tourist attraction there, which is called Yuelu Mountain National Park. It was the best park I’ve ever been to.

This park is well-known for the natural scenery and is a lot bigger than normal parks. Most people go there for hiking. There are also some famous attractions along the trails. For example, at the foot of the mountain, there is an ancient academy called Yuelu Academy, which is one of the four most famous academies in ancient Chinese history. Besides, there are also temples and beautiful pavilions built on the mountain. All the architectural structures are built in Chinese classical styles and are surrounded by green plants. And many of the buildings are built in only three colors: black, white, and grey, which gives the whole park a solemn atmosphere.

I really enjoyed being there. It is said that in the past, it was the place to go for a ton of poets and artists when they wanted to get some inspiration. I do believe it’s true, because you can feel inner peace when you’re surrounded by the beautiful nature there. It’s also a good place to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. I hope there can be more parks like this one, so people have more peaceful places to wind down.

Vocab Highlights

pavilion /pəˈvɪliən/ (n): a temporary building used at public events and exhibitions

hustle and bustle: busy and frenetic activity or excitement
