Sample Answer
I’m going to talk about the time I attended my friend Lisa’s housewarming party. If memory serves correctly, it was last June, before our graduation. Lisa had just moved out of the college dorm and into a new apartment. Chinese tradition states that the host of the house should throw a housewarming party when they move somewhere new, so they’ll have good luck when they live there. Due to this custom, Lisa invited three friends to her home. And I was one of them.
Um…it was a Saturday, she texted all three of us to meet up at her apartment at around 5 pm. Of course, every guest brought a housewarming gift for Lisa, and after we arrived, Lisa showed us her new apartment. It was very stylish and clean; I guess she definitely cleaned the apartment from top to bottom before we went, ha-ha.
She also prepared hotpot as our party food, then we prepared the side dishes for hotpot in the kitchen together. That night, we had tons of beers and talked a lot while enjoying our dinner. We also played some card games to kill time after the dinner.
Actually, that was the first time I’d been at someone’s housewarming party. It was a great bonding experience for all of us, plus we really had a blast while enjoying the tasty hotpot. I hope I can own a place in the near future and hold a housewarming party like Lisa did.
