Sample Answer

Well…off the top of my head, the first person that comes to mind is my uncle. He’s a high school history teacher. I live practically within spitting distance of his house and I hang out with him a lot, so it’s safe to say I know him pretty well. I think he’s a really interesting person who always comes up with creative and unique ideas.

I love watching TV with him, especially historical dramas, because he always looks at historical events from a unique perspective. For instance, once we had lunch while watching a TV show about the Emperor Yongzheng and his great contribution to the country. My uncle had a lot to say about this Emperor. He said the Emperor’s lifestyle was similar to that of an Internet celebrity today. You know, I never thought that there could be any similarities between such different kinds of people. My uncle related the lifestyles by talking about how both an internet celebrity and the Emperor faced a lot of gossip. Then I found it interesting how he could connect historical lives of others with modern-day situations.

I always listened to him with relish. It was as fun as listening to some gossip, but about the ancient world, which is just a perfect mix to have fun and learn new historical facts at the same time. It’s such a treat talking to him. Not only can I learn tons of history knowledge from him, but I can definitely blow off some steam by talking to a wise person like him.
