Sample Answer 1:
Dear Mr and Mrs Williams,
I hope you are doing great. It is a shame that we do not know each other very well and I would like to apologise for that. I am writing this letter in response to your complaint letter that you sent me yesterday about the noise from my flat. I sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and humbly ask for your forgiveness.
With concern about home safety, my wife and I decided to install a few smoke detectors in our flat, especially after we saw a devastating fire in our neighbourhood lately. We bought the devices from an online store and started to install and test the gadgets last Sunday. To ensure that the sound of the fire alarm is loud enough and everyone in the house would notice it, we tested the devices for about 30 minutes. Although the testing took place at midday last Sunday, my wife and I are terribly sorry that your child’s nap was interrupted.
I really regret the event and request your forgiveness. Please accept this box of chocolate as a token of my deepest regret for the inconvenience. We will be more careful next time.
Yours sincerely,
Paul Lesner

Sample Answer 2:
Dear Barbara,
I am very shocked to learn from your letter that the noise from my flat has been a source of disturbance for you and it has been spoiling your evening and causing distress. I am utterly regretful about that. I had no idea that the noise would reach your flat and cause you trouble. Please accept my sincere apology and I assure you that I will be more careful from now on.
As you may have guessed, I am trying to refit my kitchen in the evening when I get back from my office. Unfortunately, it is taking longer than expected and I have been having problems with getting things to fit properly. The banging and hammering must have created the cacophony and I should have been more cautious.
As the kitchen work is still not finished, I have decided to call a professional after reading your letter. I will instruct him to keep the noise level as minimum as possible and the work should be done in the next two or three days. I will make sure he works only during the daytime, so you will not be disturbed in the evening again.
I am really sorry to have caused you the problem.
Yours sincerely,
Gorner Brek
Sample Answer 3:
Dear Mr and Mrs Smith,
Earlier today, I received your complaint letter regarding the loud commotions from my flat. It is a real shame that you had to suffer due to my oversight. I sincerely apologise for the incident and assure you that it will not happen again.
Last Wednesday I hired a firm to redecorate my place. The decorators had to relocate all my furniture to complete their work. They also used some heavy machinery to complete their endeavour. That is why you have been catching all these loud reverberations.
I understand that I owe you an apology as all these ruckuses were caused due to me and I should have informed you beforehand. Anyway, I do apologize, and I will owe you a cup of coffee for this. I hope we will still be on friendly terms after this incident.
About the sound problem, I have already instructed the personnel to tone down the noise level, so your apartment should already be relatively silent. I hope this measure is enough to appease you. By the way, the work will be completed tomorrow.
Thanks for your patience on this matter. Please come by tomorrow evening and I will show you around my freshly revamped flat.
Yours Sincerely,
Lisa Moon

Sample Answer 4:
Dear Mr & Mrs Johnson,
I am writing in response to your complaint letter about the noise from my apartment. I feel that I have to explain myself and humbly ask for your forgiveness.
I am a student of the North Carolina Arts College and as a part of my term final, I have to perform in 4 plays and play the flute and guitar. Therefore, I have to rehearse every day because I am eager to make a good impression on my teachers. To achieve my goal, I have been practising for about 3 hours a day for the last week.
I must apologise for playing at inappropriate hours. It was all my fault since I did not clearly know the rules of our apartment that prohibits playing any musical instrument loudly. However, I have consulted with my class teacher and he suggested that I should use one of the college rooms to rehearse for a small fee. I assure you that you will not be disturbed again by any means by the noise from my flat.
I request your forgiveness. Please, accept this box of homemade cookies as a token of my appreciation.
Yours sincerely,
Mark Arther
Sample Answer 5:
Dear Mr and Mrs Martin,
Hope you are doing great. I am extremely surprised to get a letter from you indicating that you are immensely annoyed by the loud sound created in my house. Admittedly, I had no idea that the noise would reach your house at all. I am writing to apologise.
Last Monday one of my windows in the kitchen was broken as a cricket ball hit it directly while some children were playing in front of my flat. I tried to refit the window in the evening after I got back from the office. It took me a long since I have no prior experience in this type of work and I regret that I did not hire a professional.
Unfortunately, I thought that the sound will not reach your home but it eventually did. Since you have suffered due to the noise, I sincerely apologise for this. Moreover, I promise I will be more careful regarding this in the future.
Once again, I am extremely sorry for any inconvenience that might have happened due to my negligence.
Yours sincerely,
Nayan Moore
Sample Answer 6:
Dear Mr and Mrs Smith,
Hope you are doing great. I am writing in response to the complaint I received from you yesterday regarding the noise from my flat. I would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused to you.
With regards to the noise, I am a final year art major student and my term exams are due next week. To clear the exam, we need to play multiple musical instruments with different songs. I am practising with a guitar and a flute to create a good impression on the examiners. I am remorseful that I was practising at night due to which you suffered. I did not realize I was so loud. I had words with my professor and he has allowed me to take one of the classrooms for practising in the evening. In the daytime, I will practise at my friend’s place so that the noise does not irritate anyone in the neighbourhood.
Once again, I am extremely sorry for any annoyance caused by my action.
Yours Sincerely,
Akshay Saf

Sample Answer 7:
Dear Mr Thompson,
I hope that you are doing well. I am writing to apologise for the inconvenience caused by the party held at our residence last Saturday night. I am hoping that you would accept my apology.
With regards to the unexpected noise, it was created by the celebration of my parents’ 40th wedding anniversary. You can imagine that we wanted to make the occasion really special to commemorate our parents’ 4 decades of a beautiful journey together. I went to your flat to invite your family but you were away for the week.
We invited some close friends and relatives to the party and the gathering must have created the noise. I fathom the children were shouting loudly whenever they were presented with a toy. Moreover, they were running and shouting for fun. The music was also a bit louder and we realised very late that it might disturb the neighbourhood.
At such parties, I would ensure in future that the music is kept as low as possible and arrange some fun games for children that would keep them busy and less noisy.
Once again I would like to ask for an apology.
Thanks a lot for your understanding.

Sample Answer 8:
Dear Mr and Mrs Taylor,
I sincerely apologize to both of you for any inconvenience caused due to the noise from my house and thank you for bringing this to my attention. At times, we might not be aware of the problems we unintentionally cause to our neighbours and I am hoping that you would accept my apology. I can assure you that I will take the necessary steps to prevent it.
As you are aware, I am a musician by profession and my work requires me to do rehearsals before a performance at odd times. In addition to this, I also provide coaching to music students in the morning. Although, I am sincere about making sure that the noise level remains low and within the range of my property, it is quite clear that it was higher this time.
To address the problem of high noise levels, I have called a friend of mine who is an expert in sound engineering. He has suggested ways to contain this noise problem by installing noise cancellation frames on windows and doors and making the room airtight. It may cost me a significant amount but should work in the long run. Please know that making the modification to the existing arrangement will take up to a month.
I am afraid that you will have to tolerate noises for some more time, though I will try my best to keep it a minimum, and hope that you will be agreeable to the proposed solution.
Again, I regret the inconvenience caused to you.
Yours sincerely,
Prateek Roy
