Model Answer 1:
I have been lucky to work with a number of great and brilliant co-workers, who would never hesitate to help out other people in need, be it at their workplace or outside of their workplace. Today, I would like to talk about one of those persons who I really like to work with.
His name is Nehal Mithun. I have known Nehal for some time after he joined our company about a couple of years ago. In the beginning, of course, Nehal used to work in a different department than mine, so I didn’t really get much opportunity to learn about him, even though we occasionally talked to each other. But, after Nehal got transferred to my department, which is operations management, as a Senior Executive, I realized how great and productive of an employee Nehal really is.
In fact, I would say that Nehal is one of the most multi-talented persons I have ever met. His time management skill is impeccable since I have never really seen him failing in his deadline whether preparing a complex quarterly management report for the upper management or delivering a new product design which caters to the current market trends and consumer needs. Nehal is also equally skilled and able to boost up the morale of the staff members when the company passes through a tough time.
By the way, apart from preparing reports and designing company products together at a large electronics manufacturing company, I and Nehal like to hang out together also from time to time at a café or restaurant. We also hit our favourite shopping mall to find and buy different kinds of products at a discount.
I like to work so much with Nehal, primarily because he always has a natural gift to make any kind of difficult things and situations easy. Unlike many people, Nehal always enjoys his job since he always somehow manages to bring new ideas into our work and company. Besides, I like to work with Nehal so much also because he doesn’t only enjoy his work, but also he enjoys his life whenever he gets an opportunity.
Sample Answer 2:
I have many colleagues and co-workers whom I consider proactive and highly talented. Among them, I would like to mention “John” (… or say a name…) whom I really enjoy working with. I have been working with John for the last 2 years, and during this time, I have always found him to be a very talented, focused and deadline-oriented person. With him, all of my assignments and tasks were completed on time and with perfections.
Since both of us work in the same office, we see each other every weekday. Though we work for the same company, we often work on completely different projects due to our job nature. When we both are assigned to the same project, we work and discuss together to a great extent.
In the office, we mostly spend our time as two good colleagues in any office would do. Besides, he has become a good friend of mine. We often go to a lake to have some fresh air, we go to a restaurant to have our lunch, and sometimes we meet other friends. In the office, we often discuss the tasks and share our opinion on how to solve a problem or how to distribute tasks to our subordinates.
Why do I like to work with him? I like to work with John because he is proactive and highly talented. He has great problem-solving skills, and he always shows a professional and positive attitude to address a problem in a project we work with. He is a good team member and can work really hard to meet deadlines. Apart from those qualities, he is a good listener and knows when to talk and when to remain silent. These are some great and exemplary qualities someone would seek from a team member, and because of all these good qualities, I enjoy working with him to a great extent.
Model Answer 3:
Having a great study partner in the school, or a colleague at a workplace is quite advantageous, and this is why most people have their own preference when it comes to choosing friends or associates in academic or professional life. Since I have already finished my graduation and looking forward to having a full-time job, I would like to have a great colleague or co-worker, and this person would be my cousin Smith.
Smith is 4 years senior to me and works for a software company as a project manager. I revere him as a great person, mentor and creative software engineer, and I would definitely like to work with him and learn from him. My major in university was IT, and that’s why I would like to work with someone who is in the same field.
I’ve known Smith since my early childhood. As a student, he was always bright, a top scorer in school and a great companion to us. He never neglected us as juniors and had always described the rules of a new game or sports very passionately to all of us. I liked him, and still like him because he has always treated me well even though I was junior to him. He was full of ideas and his innovative concepts wear thrilling as well as mysterious to me. From our childhood, he was an iconic personality for us to follow and revere.
Why would I want to work with him? Well, this is because I like him as a person and want to have a mentor like him at the beginning of my career as a software engineer. He excelled in programming during his university days and did exceptionally well in his professional life so far. Having him as a work partner would help me immensely in my future career. Besides, he would be a great person to work with since he would be able to show me ways of solving programming problems in creative and easy ways. What more can I expect from a colleague?
