Sample Answer
Well…off the top of my head, the first person that comes to mind is my high school classmate, Tom. Besides the fact that we went to the same high school, I live practically within spitting distance of his house and I hang out with him a lot, so it’s safe to say that I know him pretty well. He’s literally the first person that I can think of who speaks a second language really well.
Tom is majoring in English at his university. It’s hardly an exaggeration to say that he’s a straight-A student. That kid is a genius and especially has a knack for spoken English. He even took part in a National English Debating Competition and won third place.
Actually, even in high school, Tom was one of the best speakers in our class. He didn’t seem to face a language barrier when he talked with the foreign teacher in our English classes. I was always blown away by how he spoke English so well.
Tom used to tell me he wanted to be a professional interpreter. He’s been working hard to achieve his dream ever since I met him. Not long ago, I saw a video that he posted of himself practicing English at 5 am. His level of dedication and commitment is just above and beyond what most students aim for. I guess it’s why it was such a breeze for him to reach such a high level of English.
