Well, truth be told, I’m not a big fan of newspapers and magazines since I’m the kind of boy who loves reading comic books and fantasy novels. However, the only magazine which interests me is “Medicine and Health.”
This magazine is published weekly by the Ministry of Medicine. As much as I can remember, I accidentally read this one by randomly grabbing one piece of newspaper on my mom’s desk to read out of boredom. I was just looking for something to do to kill time, but at that moment, I couldn’t extract myself from the magazine since I am really into medicine.
It was all about medicine and medicinal herbs, especially Vietnamese herbs, and it educates people about their usage of them alongside some unwanted effects to anticipate. Moreover, there are various pieces of information about how to care for sick people, which was quite a good source of knowledge for me to dig deeper into. If we could apply all these things in real life, it would do wonders for us, and the results would be seen in no time. I remember one time when I was away from home for the first time; I got a headache from jet lag. Unfortunately, the phone could not access the network, so that I couldn’t call mom at all. Keeping myself calm, I rummaged through my memories for some ways to mitigate my pain, and I found some that I had gotten from reading that magazine. At last, my pain was relieved, and I felt thankful for the knowledge that I had accumulated.
I am still an avid reader of this magazine, and I have introduced it to some of my friends, who really welcome it.

One of my favorite rituals is curling up with a book or magazine on a rainy day, so I do have my fair share of magazines to stock my shelves with. The one I want to tell you more about today is “National Geographic,” which is a magazine that covers many intriguing and thought-provoking articles.
I have been a loyal subscriber of the magazine ever since 2020, when the pandemic first hit and forced people worldwide to commit to a strict social distancing policy, and I was no exception. An excessive amount of time spent at home with little to do inspired me to kill time reading magazines, and National Geographic grabbed my attention.
In general, it features topics of science, geography, and world culture and is renowned for its photojournalism approach, a style in which photos accompany articles and news stories. The intended audience for the magazine is a pretty wide demographic – with readers ranging from young adults to readers over 55 years old. However, the core characteristic that links all these people together is a passion dedicated to education and exploration.
The reasons why I am drawn to this magazine are plenty. The most notable one is, beyond doubt, the topics they cover. As someone who is quite concerned about environmental issues, the way that National Geographic has proved to be an ally of environment lovers in the last few decades is heartwarming. The magazine has remained outspoken about many green issues, such as global warming, endangered species, and waste management.
Another reason for my undying love is the absolutely stunning photographs of various subjects, taken in even the most distant and remote areas worldwide. The photos are usually of incredible quality, and their significance in transferring messages and inspiring readers to learn more is undeniable. Lastly, and for a more personal reason, this magazine satiates my hunger for knowledge and adventure.
As I am often snowed under with work, National Geographic provides me with the opportunity to see the world from the sofa of my living room. I believe I’ve acquired much more scientific and cultural knowledge since I started subscribing to this magazine, and isn’t knowledge the most powerful tool of humankind?

Honestly, I don’t read magazines much these days because reading online news is more convenient and economical. Sometimes in my leisure time, I only read the one called Voyage, which is a fashion magazine.
Actually, I have been a subscriber to this magazine for almost 5 years, and I fully intend to carry on reading it. It contains all that we need to know in terms of fashion, such as famous models of places in the world, tips to mix and match different items, and the expensive brands coming from designer labels. Besides, at the back of the magazine, there are a few discount coupons for some particular brands run by well-known fashion houses.
As I’m a person who always takes pride in my appearance, this magazine seems to be useful to me. Thanks to it, I can catch up with the latest trend in the fashion world. I know how to mix and match the items and also dress for the occasion. Furthermore, the information is arranged logically, so I can easily locate articles that interest me. For example, timeless items are always on the first pages of the magazine while casual clothes are in the middle, which is suitable for a slave to fashion like me to choose.
Finally, I would emphasize that I usually depend on this magazine to dress well or suggest to my friends. It is a worth-reading magazine.

Well, first of all, being a university graduate with a major in media and sociocultural communication, it should come as no surprise that reading newspapers is something I have to do on a daily basis just to keep myself updated on global events. But the problem is, I find buying printed newspapers a real hassle because my hectic schedules wouldn’t allow me to travel to a newsstand in a wrap. And that’s where the online news comes in. So out of the websites that I subscribe to, I would personally put The New York Times on top of the list.
Now I guess introducing to you what The New York Times is would be awfully redundant since you would’ve probably been too familiar with how powerful and influential it is. The New York Times is one of the powerhouses of the publishing industry, with around 3 million total subscriptions for its online format, if I’m not mistaken, which I think is quite impressive.
So, the reason why I chose to pay an annual subscription fee for The New York Times is that I find it to be a very reliable source of news. Well, I believe that The New York Times has presented some of the most accurate and deepest articles and opinion editorials you can find about the US and foreign events. And on top of that, what I think sets The New York Times apart from other periodicals is the fact that it has super intense coverage on any particular matter. In fact, during my thesis research on Trump’s use of social media platforms – particularly Twitter – I gained a tremendous understanding of the topic through reading dozens and even hundreds of articles presented in The New York Times. And I was really grateful for that!
Now, in another aspect, I would say that the subscription fee of The New York Times can be quite discouraging for some people. I mean that paying a few dollars per month for an online news edition can be quite expensive for some people. I would totally comprehend that, but at the same time, judging from my own experience, I think only that amount of money for the readership on The New York Times would be so invaluable and would not disappoint you.

From my childhood days, I have been a voracious reader who is mostly interested in fiction. Unlike other kids of my age who wanted chocolates and toys, my only demand to my parents was to buy me storybooks and magazines, especially while traveling. One of the popular ones that I follow even today is Reader’s Digest.
While copies of the US edition of Reader’s Digest were launched in 1922 and were available in India right from the early days, it was in January 1954 that Digest’s British company launched the first Indian edition. Since then, its circulation has risen steadily, beginning with a price of Rs. 1.50 only. Now it is part of the India Today group with 100 million readers worldwide. The editorial message aims to inform, enrich, inspire and entertain its faithful readers with an interesting mix of crime stories, adventure stories, stories about “everyday heroes”, puzzles, etc.
I like that behind the fun and humorous cartoons and attractions, the editors and content never lose sight of the fact that each of us is facing the demanding world on a daily basis. As a result, the magazine is renowned for publishing gripping, real-life stories that motivate its readers. Published in 48 editions and 19 languages, I hope it continues to be one of the world’s most-wanted magazines. People must be aware of reality while enjoying a few moments of levity.

Today I will introduce to you my favorite magazine. It is called Hoa hoc tro. Actually, I read this magazine when I was a teenager because it really suits the taste of the young generation. My mom always bought this magazine for me after she went to the market and I would read it twice a week with my cousins as there were a myriad of articles about my idols.
