Undoubtedly, while we generally all like to eat cake on all occasions, whether on a birthday, wedding anniversary or graduation ceremony, a birthday is probably the only occasion when we have a special cake. Today, I want to talk about one birthday cake I received from a favourite high school teacher.
I received this cake on my 16th birthday, right after graduating high school. This particular birthday was unlike any other of my previous birthdays because it coincided with my graduation, and many guests attended it. Included among those guests were my classmates and a few of my teachers. Of course, my family had invited all my high school teachers to the party, but only a few could attend it.
Anyway, on this special birthday, while different guests brought different kinds of birthday gifts, one of my teachers had a different idea. In fact, while all of my guests were quite happy to give me some “objects” or material things, this good teacher of mine decided to give me a special strawberry and chocolate cake.
Now, I am not too sure exactly why he decided to give me that cake, even though we already had a rather large cake to celebrate my birthday, but I am assuming that he just wanted to look a bit “different” from the rest of the crowd. Besides, I think he brought this cake to my birthday because he wanted his students to remember him uniquely.
But, whatever the reason, my teacher decided to give me the cake, no doubt it was an extraordinary cake, not only because it tasted exceeding delicious, but also because it had some of the best decorations I have ever seen on a cake. It was also exceptional because it came out of a very “special consideration” from one of my favourite teachers.

Celebrations leave an indelible nostalgic impression on my mind, and fortunately, there are umpteen moments in my life when I went through such commemorations.
One such point was half a decade back when I saw my name in the merit list of class 12th in a local newspaper. The moment I read the newspaper, the state of my euphoria was spellbound. That day was an extraordinarily overjoyed and momentous day for my whole family. We got clicked by the media; my interview was in every newspaper in my town, and my parents felt proud of me. Hence, to celebrate such a cherishable day, my father brought me a surprise cake in the evening. It was a double-storey barbie doll cake. One was of black currant flavour, and the other was a combination of chocolate and vanilla. On top of it, a doll was installed, decorated with sprinklers and chocolate. When I saw the cake, I was surprised as it was such a beautiful cake mixed with vibrant colours. Apart from that, the icing on the cake was vanilla-flavoured whipped cream, and the bread inside had chocolate chips. When we cut the cake and fed each other, the moment was cherishable, and the cake was highly delicious. It was so fresh that it melted when we used to take that in our mouths. Some fruits, like pineapple, cherries, grapes and so on, were also decorated on the top of the ground floor, and the caption on the cake was “ for the success of my fairy”.
All my kith and kin were on cloud nine as no one in my family before that achieved this success.
To wrap it up, such precious days should not be left without the cake cutting ceremonies, and if the cake is palatable, it acts like a cherry on the cake.
