Describe an unusual experience of traveling

You should say:

  • When and where you went;
  • Who you were with;
  • What you did there;
  • And explain why it is unusual.

Sample Answer

The latest unusual trip that I had was the time I went on a road trip in an RV. If memory serves correctly, it was last national holiday and I traveled to Hunan province with my friends.

The trip was planned on a whim; a friend of mine proposed to rent an RV to get to Hunan because we don’t live too far away. We had never traveled by an RV, and it sounded like a total blast to go on a short vacation with this kind of vehicle. So we all agreed to this proposal right away.

The trip lasted for three days, and during those three days, we drove to a ton of amazing places, such as Fenghuang Ancient Town and Yuelu Academy. You know, there was a large bed in the RV that could fit three people as well as a kitchen and a washroom. It made the journey way easier than we thought. Plus, we could start off or pull over at any time so the entire journey didn’t tire us out.

It was the first time I went on an RV road trip and slept in a vehicle. Honestly, we were pretty thrilled. The trip also gave us the chance to stop at any destination we wanted, so the itinerary was very open. It was definitely a special and unique experience to me. If possible, I’ll go on another RV trip with my parents. I believe they’ll love it.
