Sample Answer

Describe a respectful Chinese celebrity who has creative and interesting thoughts.

Speaking of such a person, the first one I can think of is definitely the founder of Taobao, Jack Ma. He is well-known for his creative ideas and fantastic thoughts about E-commerce. His vision for online shopping and great work of establishing one of the largest online shopping websites in the world have changed tons of Chinese people’s lifestyles, which is also the reason why so many people respect him.

When do children begin to have their own ideas?

I guess children usually start to have their own ideas when they’re five or six. Before that, they’re pretty young and they don’t really have a sense of who they are. They don’t understand the world that well either. But once they start learning in earnest, they form their own ideas about how things work. More importantly, they can actually express those ideas to others. It’s pretty cool to watch.

Do children have ideas that are similar to their parents? Are their ideas often influenced by their parents?

In most cases, children have ideas that are similar to their parents’. After all, their parents are the ones raising them. I think it’s pretty impossible not to be influenced by your parents. They’re the ones who teach you about the world. So their biases are bound to affect you. But as people grow up, they can start to form ideas that are different from their parents’.

Why are there more and more differences between children and their parents?

I suppose it’s because nowadays, everyone is being encouraged to be unique. You know, we’re always told that we should think for ourselves. We shouldn’t depend on our parents’ ideas. If children always listen to their parents and act like their parents, they will be less likely to become independent. So that encourages children to have separate ideas and act differently than their parents. I don’t know if it’s necessarily a good or bad thing. It’s hard to say for sure.

How can teachers inspire children to have different opinions?

I suppose that teachers can inspire children to have more different and interesting opinions by exposing them to all kinds of ideas. After all, if you only pay attention to what your parents or friends say, you’ll probably just have the same opinions as them. So you should take in a wide range of opinions and ideas, and then form your own opinions based on that. It’s always best to expand your horizons before forming opinions.
