Sample Answer
I’m going to talk about a swimming center in my city. It’s within walking distance of my home. It’s probably the most popular place for entertainment in my hometown. So when it comes to a new public facility in my city, the swimming pool is the first thing that comes to mind.
If memory serves correctly, this new swimming center opened to the public last May. Before it was constructed, there was a small stadium on the same land. But not many people went there in recent years because the facilities were pretty old and run-down. To use the land better, the city launched a rebuilding project to turn it into a swimming center.
Since the opening of the pool, tons of people of all different ages have gone there to swim. It makes life a lot easier for swimming enthusiasts like me. I practice my swimming skills there pretty often. Plus, I think relationships between neighbors can be improved because the center often holds tons of community events, like swimming games and pool parties.
Besides, in my view, it’s also an awesome place for residents in the neighborhood to wind down. We usually live a sedentary lifestyle; you know, we’re always tied-up with work and study. So a swimming pool nearby is a great place for people to chill out. I hope there can be more public facilities like this in the future. They will bring a more recreational life to people in the community.
